Isteqamat

[Lamhe]

Assalamualikum Warahmatullah Wa-barkatahu,

Allah says in Quran:






(Surah Ha Meem Sajdah, 41:30)



Verily those who say: "Our Lord is Allah", and then they stand firm on this, on them angels will descend (at the time of their death) (saying): "Fear not, nor grieve! But receive the Glad tidings of paradise, which you have been promised".



My dear brothers in Islam,



This verse explains the importance of our Shahadah of Kalima At-Towheed and our action on the Kalima throughout our life without deviating against what we have testified in this Kalimah.



Rasoolullah sallallahu alaihiwasallam recited this verse and explained that many people bear witness on the oneness of Allah, but then again committed kufr. Whoever stands firm on this until his death, he is the one who has made istiqamat on this.



Abu Bakr As-Siddiq Radhiallahu Anhu recited this verse and said, "It means those people who, after reciting Kalima At-Shahadah never committed shirk again."



Amirul Mu'mineen when asked the people about this, they replied that it means not to involve in sinful acts, but he said, "you have understood it wrong, it means bearing witness that Allah alone is worthy of worship, and then never turning towards others".
